Are you looking for an adrenaline rush? Then Posavje is the right place to be. With its natural diversity, the Posavje region offers many opportunities for different adrenaline sports which will make your heart beats faster – even if you are one of more demanding fans of such challenges. Among the most popular adrenaline activities in Posavje are paragliding and hang-gliding, ballooning, downhill mountain biking and secured climbing routes (ferrates).
Among paragliders and hang-gliders, two points are especially popular in Posavje – Lisca (947 m above sea level) and Svinjski rt (497 m above sea level). From the air you can admire beautiful wide views of Sava river valley, the surrounding hills, fields, and meadows.
With easy accessibility, location, and nice climate Lisca has been attracting paragliders and hang-gliders since the beginning of the 1990s. For the bravest there are three take-off points at the top, suitable for both beginners and more experiences paragliders and hang-gliders. For breath taking views also Svinjski Rt near Radeče is very popular as a starting point for paragliding and hang-gliding.
If paragliding and hang-gliding are not for you, Posavje can also be seen from the air from a balloon. A special experience is a view on Kostanjevica na Krki from the sky. If you are flying for the first time, it is quite possible that in addition to breath-taking views, a balloon baptism awaits you.
If you are looking for different adrenaline-fueled activity, then maybe climbing on secured climbing routes (ferrates) are the right sport for you. This adrenaline activity is becoming increasingly popular in Posavje region and wider. So in a way we are quite lucky, we have one ferrata on our doorsteps, located in Lisca, with starting point in Cerje. The ferrata is rated B/C in terms of difficulty, except for the last section, which is rated D – this means it can be a challenge even for those more demanding climbers. This secured climbing route is also suitable for those who are just starting to try this sport for the first time, as individual climbing sections are short, and each climbing wall can be bypassed on foot and continued on the next section of the route, if any particular part seems too difficult. The most daring will especially enjoy the last, fifth section, which is the most exposed, technically demanding and overhanging.
You want an adrenaline challenge on two bikes? Then downhill mountain biking from either Lisca or Bohor might be the right adrenaline rush you are looking for. Numerous forest trails are perfect for those who enjoy fast adrenaline descents into the valley.
