Description
The narrow gorge of the Sava River widens considerably at Radeče. The mighty and playful mother of all Slovenian rivers calms down her flow in the reservoir lake of the nearby hydroelectric power plant Vrhovo. In the TRC Savus harbor, a tourist raft resides, where you will be welcomed by the Radeče rafters, and, according to the old Slavic tradition, you will be offered salt and bread as well as a shot of local blueberry schnapps. During a pleasant trip, many interesting things will be heard: about Sava, about the hard but courageous life of the rafters (flosarji) who once mastered these waters. Rafters always make sure that nobody goes hungry or thirsty from the rafts. On the Radeče raft you will be served a delicious homemade goulash, so good that you will clean it off the plate with bread and ask for repetitions. During the trip on the Sava River you will enjoy the elite company of the red Queen of the Posavje vineyards, the Blue Frankish. Accompanied by the sounds of the accordion, you will definitely not remain indifferent, with a somewhat joke-colored baptism of the “greenhorn” you will always remember this raft ride.
